What is Wildcat Futbol Club (WFC)?

The WFC offers motivated Wilmington players the opportunity to get top professional training and the high level of team play often associated with ‘club’ teams.  Additional benefits are a reduced cost and shorter commute to practice. The WFC is available only to a limited number of the committed and talented soccer players in Wilmington. The WFC is directed by WYSA Technical Director, John Bavota.


WFC Teams will form teams along the new US Soccer Player Development Initiatives of Birth Year registration

Why the WFC?

  •  Provide supplemental, expert training under professional supervision for committed players.
  • Provide Wilmington families with a local, less costly, developmentally appropriate alternative to “Club Soccer” with qualified & licensed professionals.
  • Continue to develop Wilmington players to compete at the high school level.

Objectives of WFC

  • Consistency of coaching from the Technical Director's terminology, methodology, and delivery.
  • Fixtures competing in New England's top club league, The New England Premiership.
  • Increased level of competition at a higher level of play.

WFC Skills Academy

 Why WFC Skills Academy?
The WFC Skills Academy is part of the larger player development pathway for WFC players beginning with WYSA Intown, WYSA Travel, WFC Skills Academy, WFC Teams. The entire focus of the coaching staff will be to train players to play the game of soccer at a high level while promoting development and enjoyment. 


Structure:

  • Individual & Small Group Technical Training.
  • Developmentally focused league play & jamborees with like-minded DOCs/Towns.
  • Seasonal Enrollment – Fall, Winter, Spring.
  • ENROLLMENT in the Skills Academy seasonal. Players have the option to participate in Fall, Winter, Spring Seasons based on their schedules.

Who is Eligible for the WFC Skills Academy?

Players currently registered with WYSA Travel, or WYSA Intown programs.
