GENERAL SESSION:

 

 

Present: Tom Card, Melissa Doherty, Rob Elliott, Dave Foresyth, David O’Mahony, Bob Regan, Eric Flynn, Dave Oatis, Rich Pereira, Bill Lanagan, Joe Maiella, Manny Mulas, Sean Broussard, Mark Ragguci, Nick Howie and Tony Almeida.

 

Absent:  Neil Buckley

 

6:02 pm – Quorum of 13 BOD members - meeting called to order by Bob Regan.

 

Dave Foresyth joins at 6:05 pm

 

Tom Card joins at 6:16 pm

 

Sean Broussard joins at 6:28 pm

 

All who were present in attendance by 6:28 pm

 

BOD Meeting Minutes: 

 

Motioned by Card, 2nd by Flynn to accept the February Financials.  Motion Passes 15-0-1.


Motioned by Doherty, 2nd by Flynn to accept March 2015 General & Exec Session BOD Meeting Minutes.  Motion Passes 13-0-1.

 

Exec Session Motion:
8:06 p.m.  Motion by Regan, 2nd by Foresyth to enter into Executive Session.  Motion passes 16-0-0.

 

 

OFFICER REPORTS:

 

President

  • Welcome message and no further updates

     

    Secretary

  • Availability spreadsheet- BOD to populate time for PPE dates

  • CORI checks- about 10 coaches need CORI updates.

  • Constant Contact email going out a week prior to opening day.Topics are due by 4/1.

     

    Treasurer

  • Revenue on track with what was spent last year at this time

     

    VP of Administration

  • Concussion training gone really well.All Head Coaches for travel have been certified and a few assistants remain.

  • GNO scheduled for April 19th.Email being circulated to members to sign up and posted to social media daily.

     

    VP Development

  • Summer camps are waiting for permits by the town

  • April camp will not happen due to field conditions.BOD to send communication out via Social Media and Website about other camps available including Tyngsboro.

  • Coach mentoring program and skills competition programs have launched and publicized to the membership and coaches.

     

    Travel

  • Gym time sessions are now in progress. All but 1 of 27 slots are filled.

  • Middlesex coaches meeting on April 8th at 6:30 pm at Joyce Middle School in Woburn

  • WYSA travel coaches meeting on April 13th at 7pm at Wilmington Middle School

     

    Travel Refs

  • Mid-week games will be done as make up games and scheduled for a different time

  • Middlesex travel ref meeting held on April 4th

  • Nick to work with former board member Tom on assignments of refs via Sports Manager

     

    Intown

  • 50 coaches added since early March

  • Intown coaches meeting set for April 2nd 7pm at Wilmington Middle School

  • All uniforms received and ready for coaches meeting

  • Low registration numbers in the Coed 6 to 9 program and the Grades 3 to 5 program.

     

    Intown Refs

  • Ref meeting held on April 4th at the Shawsheen gym

  • Sports Pilot program will allow referee sign up in the Fall via family registration system.

     

    Fundraising

  • No updates as Neil was not present and board report not received in time for meeting.

     

    Merchandise

  • WYSA BOD gear is now ready.Travel socks in good shape

  • Kinder and Pre K balls are available now for new players

  • U16 and U18 uniforms are in and ready for pick up.

  • 2,000 patches have been ordered.

  • T shirts being ordered for sale at the field

  • Online sales from My Locker are up.$10 discount coupon posted to the website and social media.

  • Merchandise volunteers will be low at the Spring season due to Wildcats volunteer program going away.

  • Travel to work closely with Merchandise on any new player adds to ensure they have a uniform for opening day.

     

    Concessions

  • Rich working on Serf Safe certification

  • Employees are being CORI checked

  • Same issue with Merchandise on low high school volunteers for Spring

  • Town needs to turn on water at the shack.We are waiting to be notified by the town when the water will be turned on.

  • We will look into having Heavenly Donuts deliver donuts to the shack each week.

     

    Fields & Buildings

  • Shack locks have been changed.Tony will distribute keys.

  • Combo locks are also been changed.

  • Dumpsters being dropped off right before the season starts

  • Purchasing new American Flag for the shack

     

    Technical Director

  • Rob Holliday has accepted a position with Mass Youth Soccer and will be leaving WYSA by end of April.

  • One more Winter session left for Winter Clinics.

  • 3 WYSA coaches attended the F license and 4 WYSA coaches attended the E license.WYSA hosted over 40 coaches from various towns for the courses.
     

     

    NEW BUSINESS:
     

  • Exec team working on guidelines on how to conduct an email motion that will be distributed to the BOD.

  • BOD responsiveness to member emails.Each BOD needs to make sure every BOD has coverage if they cannot respond to a member email. When responding to members, please make sure another BOD member is copied, responses are timely and responses are polite to members.

  • 9 Cross Street Development.BOD members were in attendance at a recent meeting. WYSA will communicate to members the importance of members attending the upcoming town meeting to vote.

  • Wildcats FC Policy – on going discussions were held on how WYSA will implement this new program.

 

9:02 pm – Motion by Foresyth, 2nd by Howie to 1) leave executive session, 2) to adjourn. Motion passes 16-0-0.
